新関寺小町
| [Genre] | Shinkyoku |
| [Composed] | Tomiyama Seikin I - Shamisen - 1963 |
History:
| Composed by Tomiyama Seikin I in 1963, with lyrics by Daibutsu Jirō. Commissioned by Takehara Han as a dance piece, it was written as a song for shamisen and koto ensemble including kokyū. Based on the Noh play "Sekidera Komachi," this piece is distinct from the long-form classical piece "Sekidera Komachi." However, it also sings of Ono no Komachi, who, due to a grudge held by Fukakusa Shosho, becomes depressed and retires to live as a nun in Sekidera Temple. |
