History:
| Song for shamisen, koto, and shakuhachi ensemble composed by Tomiyama Seikin in 1960, with lyrics by Yoshii Isamu. Commissioned by Inoue Yachiyo, and performed at the Gion Onshukai in Kyoto. This is a narrative tale of Gion from the Tale of the Heike. Taira no Kiyomori falls in love with a young dancer who eventually seeks refuge in a monastery in Sagano, where she becomes a nun. |
