Born February 25, 1912, Miyagi Kazue studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Miyagi Michio. She was the head of the Miyagi school, vice president of the association, leader of the Miyagi Ensemble, lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, and was exclusively affiliated with Victor Records. She toured Europe in 1960, 1964, and 1967, and served as a cultural envoy dispatched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1969 and 1970.
