Kusuda Norifumi was born in Hiroshima Prefecture, May 17, 1911. He studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Fujii Orie I, earning his masters license in 1928. A member of the Tōdo Ongaku-kai, he was active as a performer and teacher for 60 years.
