Born April 15, 1939 in Kōchi Prefecture, Kikuyoshi Chie (Morinaga Chieko) studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Kikuta Utao II. She began teaching in 1962 and was a member of the Tōdō Ongagku-kai and the Kinkiku-kai.
