Kikumizu Shūhō (Masada Masaichi) was born in Ōsaka, October 15, 1919. He studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Kikuhira Kinsei, earning his Shihan (masters license) in 1936. Affiliated with the Tōdō Ongaku-kai and president of the Shūgen-kai, he was a performer and teacher for more than 50 years.
