Sugiura Toshiko

Sugiura Toshiko was born in Tokyo, March 27, 1927. She studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Araya Kieko, earning her teaching credentials in 1949. She graduated from the NHK Development Course and auditioned for Kyoto Broadcasting in 1958. She was a member of the Miyagi-kai and Meigen-kai, and chairperson of the Kotoha-kai.
