Born in Tokyo, December 5, 1941, Suzuki Kikurei (Suzuki Reiko) studied Yamada-ryū shamisen and koto under Takano Yoshinaga. A graduate of the Music Department at the University of Education, she was a member of the Kōyū-kai.
