Suzuki Shōei III (Izumi Masako) was born in Tokyo, November 15, 1937. She studied Yamada-ryū shamisen and koto under Suzuki Shōei II and Nakanoshima Kin'ichi. A graduated of Tokyo University of the Arts, she started teaching in 1957. She was affiliated with the Shinchō-kai as well as a council member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
