Komatsu Kagekazu

Born April 18, 1847, Komatsu Kagekazu was a koto and Heikyoku (Heike Biwa) player of the Meiji and Taisho periods. He studied Ikuta-ryū koto under Yoshiyama Kōtō, a disciple of Yoshizawa Kengyō II, in Nagoya. He composed many lyrics and compositions, contributing greatly to the development of the Nagoya koto world. His edited works include "Zouho Fuso Gafushu" (Enlarged Collection of Gathered Koto Music) and "Koto Hanagatami." He passed away on February 5, 1915, at the age of 69.
