Tominori Seiyū (Sugiura Yūko) began studying Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Tomiyama Seikin I when she was 11 years old (1942). In 1958, she received the stage name Seiei. In 1977, she was given the second stage name Tominori, and became Tominori Seiyū. She was an instructor with the Seion-kai.
