Born in Shiga Prefecture, April 10, 1909, Tokuyoshi Nobu studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Kurabe Haruko (of the Sasao Takenoto lineage). She started teaching in 1954 and was affiliated with the Somei Ongaku-kai.
