Born in Kōbe, February 24, 1944, Nakaito Toshie (Ozaki Toshie) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Nakami Kiyoharu, earning her Shihan (master teacher license) in 1964. She belonged to the Nihon Tōdō Ongaku-kai and the Seibi-kai.
