A performer and educator for almost 80 years, Nakahira Kotomi (Okamoto Tsui) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Nakahira Fukunoto (her father) and Nakamori Kōkin Kengyō. Born in Osaka Prefecture, September 2, 1890, she began teaching in 1904. She belonged to the Nihon Tōdō Ongaku-kai and was an executive director of the Osaka Sankyoku Kyōkai.
