Born in Tokyo, June 21, 1909, Nishimoto Shizuho (Nishimoto Shizuko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Inagaki Mizuho. She started teaching in 1945 and was head of the Shizuho-kai. Her career as both a performer and teacher spanned more than 40 years.
