Higuma Kimiko was born April 6, 1938 in Nagaoka City. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Fukumori Toshiko, earning her Shihan (master teaching license) in 1965. She was the Head of Shikin-kai, and belonged to the Kyoto Eiraku-kai.
