Born May 18, 1916 in Aichi Prefecture, Funabashi Kin studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Mori Mineko and began teaching in 1933. She was affiliated with the Kokufū Ongaku-kai and was a performer and teacher for more than 50 years.
