Magario Shunsen (Magario Tomi) was born December 8, 1923 in Nagano City. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Jyūgo Shunka and began teaching in 1953. She belonged to the Tōdō Ongaku-kai and the Kikuto-kai.
