Mizusawa Yōno (Mizusawa Toshi) was born March 24, 1912 in Tokyo. She studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Ichimura Ayano and started teaching in 1926. She belonged to the Ayano-kai, and was a performer and teacher for more than 40 years.
