Born March 13, 1946 in Tokyo, Mizobe Sonoyuki (Mizobe Setsuko) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Yamakawa Enshō. She started teaching in 1970 and graduated from the NHK Ikusei-kai in 1971. She belonged to the Shunwa-kai.
