Yoshida Taneko was born June 3, 1910 in Kyoto.
She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Noda Shūkin (of the Hagiwara Seigin lineage).
She started teaching in 1936.
She was head of the Surei-kai in Kyoto.
