Tafuji Kiyone (Tafuji Uneko) was born December 24, 1923 in Tokyo. She studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Tafuji Seifū and Takahashi Eisei I and started teaching in 1964. She belonged to the Fujisei-kai and and was a councillor of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai and the Yamada-ryū Kyōkai, as well as head of the Shōshi-kai.
