Born December 7, 1903 in Kyoto Prefecture, Reimei Shizuko (Yumura Shizuko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Miyagi Michio and Kikubayashi Daikengyō. Started teaching in 1935. She was a member of the Reimei-kai (started by Reimei Toshiko) and the Kōrei Hōgaku-kai.
