Asano Eiho (Asano Akio) was born October 8, 1915 in Nara Prefecture. He studied Chikuho-ryū shakuhachi under Sakamoto Eiho (from the Sakai Chikuho lineage). He started teaching in 1936 and belonged to the Toichi-kai.
