Born October 10, 1900, Kaishima Reifū (Kaishima Tarō) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Aoki Reibo I and Satō Seibi. He was an advisor to the Bifū-kai headquarters and was active in the shakuhachi world for more than 50 years.
