Born December 26, 1912 in Hokkaido, Ōhara Reikō (Ōhara Hisatomo) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Aoki Reibo I and Fujisawa Reishō. He was a member of the Reibo-kai and was head of the Obihiro branch. He was active in the shakuhachi world for over 40 years.
