Fukai Genpū (Fukai Yoshitaka) was born December 2, 1940 in Osaka Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Uchida Genpū and began teaching in 1971. He was the deputy director of the Bifū-kai business department and belonged to the Kita-Midō branch.
