Matsuno Sodō (Matsuno Mamoru) was born August 3, 1906 in Gifu Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Seki Wadō and Nōtomi Judō. He belonged to Judō-kai. His career as a teacher and performer spanned more than 50 years.
