Motomatsu Kōdō (Motomatsu Teruo) was born November 20, 1941 in Fukuoka Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Wakamatsu Godō. He started teaching in 1961. He was a member of the Ube branch of the Nihon Chikudō Gakkan.
