Born in Tokyo, September 18, 1919, Takeshita Fumitoshi (Takeshita Toshiko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Yonekawa Fumiko I and was awarded her teaching credentials in 1950. She was a member of the Sōchō-kai and a council member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
