Composer Morioka Akira was born May 2, 1933. He graduated from Osaka College of Music, Department of Instrumental Music amd served as a music teacher at Osaka Municipal School for the Blind until March 1997. Received the Hakuho Prize in November 1989 for his achievements in school education, especially in music education for the visually impaired. He passed away November 19, 2000.
