Born April 30, 1932, Miura Yōko studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Sakata Miyo and Abe Keiko. She began teaching in 1951. Graduated from the NHK Hōgaku Development Association, won 2nd place (Sankyoku) and other awards at the Hōgaku Competition. She was the head of Meiyō-kai and belonged to the Ginmei-kai and Wakana-kai.
