Composer - Koto - Shamisen

Chiyoda Kengyō (given name Shōei'ichi) was a late Edo-period koto player and composer. Born in Omi (present-day Shiga Prefecture) he studied koto first under Yamada Kengyō. Upon Yamada's passing he began studies under the first Yamato Kengyō. He received the title of Kengyō himself in 1833. He died in 1862.
