Born in Ōsaka Prefecture, December 12, 1925, Kikutake Kiyoshi (Katsui Kiyoshi) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Kikutake Shōtei. He was chairman of the Tōdō Yūgaku-kai and a director of the Ōsaka Sankyoku Kyōkai.
