Kikutani Kinshū (Nishitani Haruo) was born in Kōbe, July 10, 1929. He studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Kikui Shō’on and received his teaching credentials in 1951. He was a member of the Suzaku-kai and Kikui Sōgaku-sha.
