Born December 26, 1946 in Takarazuka City, Kikuhiro Yūko (Ōishi Yūko) studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Kikushige Emiko. She started teaching in 1968 and was affiliated with the Tōdō Ongaku-kai.
