Born in Gunma Prefecture, January 13, 1927, Kobayashi Kikune (Kobayashi Kimiko) studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Ishida Sadako, Take Tomiko, and Satō Chikaki, earning her teaching credentials in 1965. She belonged to the Shiragiku-kai and headed the Hatsune-kai.
