Satō Shūei

Satō Shūei (Satō Ikuko) was born in Hokkaidō, May 12, 1918. She studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Takahashi Sōshū, earning her Shihan (masters license) in 1940. A member of the Kokufū Ongaku Shōrei-kai, she was active as both a performer and teacher for more than 50 years.
