During fall Ango at Zen Mountain Monastery, Ronnie Seldin taught a weekend workshop in shakuhachi. I was instantly hooked and purchased a nice bamboo flute from Ronnie. Guided by Christopher Blasdel's book, I taught myself the rudiments of playing. I packed up the flute soon after that until I started playing again 10 years go. I studied a bit with Jon Kypros (Seien Ryu) and for the last few years with Elliot Kallen (Chikuyusha). I've attended several Shakuhachi Summer Camps and the World Festival in Texas in 2025.
