Born in Okayama Prefecture, January 5, 1906, Senoo Jūnoichi (Senoo Jūzo) studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Watanabe Chisaju, earning her teaching credentials in 1924. She was a member of the Fukui Prefecture branch of the Nihon Tōdō Ongaku-kai. A performer and teacher for more than 60 years, she received the Citizens' Cultural Encouragement Award.
