Sogabe Kaemi (Sogabe Masako) was born in Takamatsu City, September 14, 1923. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Ōta Baisetsu, Maeda Masatsune, and Chikushi Katsuko. She started teaching in 1942 and belonged to the Chikushi-kai.
