Sogabe Chise

Born in Tokushima Prefecture, April 29, 1919, Sogabe Chise (Sogabe Hisako) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Yamase Shōin II (the fifth Iemoto of the Yamase school). She received her stage name in 1943, and teaching license in 1947. She was head of the Chisō-kai and a council member of the Seiin-kai.
