Saotome Fumiitsu (Yonekawa Kimiko) was born in Tochigi Prefecture, September 12, 1934. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Yonekawa Fumiko I and started teaching in 1964. She was a graduate of the NHK Hōgaku Development Workshop, and was affiliated with the Sōchō-kai.
