Born in Nagano Prefecture, October 28, 1936, Tōgo Shunen (Tōgo Yoshie) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Tōgo Shunka, earning her Shihan (master license) in 1965. She was a member of the Tōdō Ongaku-kai and the Kikufuji-kai.
