Hayashi Kashū (Hayashi Sakiko) was active as a performer and teacher for 60 years. Born August 28, 1913 in Nagasaki City, she studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Ueno Yori, Chikushi Katsuko, and Abe Keiko, earning her teaching credentials in 1946. She belonged to the Fukuoka branch of the Chikushi-kai, was head of the Hejima-kai, and a director of the Sasebo Sankyoku Kyōkai.
