Born October 5, 1915 in Tochigi Prefecture, Masubuchi Tōgiyoku II (Masubuchi Setsuko) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Masubuchi Tōgiyoku I and Nakanoshima Kin’ichi. She started teaching in 1935, was head of the Yachiyo-kai, and was active as a performer and teacher for more than 40 years.
