Miyazawa Kayami had a career as a performer and teacher in Hōgaku for more than 60 years. She was born February 11, 1913 in Hiroshima Prefecture and studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Watanabe Midori. She started teaching in 1929. She was affiliated with the Kansai Musical Guidance Association.
