Born February 13, 1913 in Hokkaido, Yamamichi Sōkō (Yamamichi Kimiko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Yamashita Sōbai, Endō Sōkin, and Endō Daishidō. She started teaching in 1927 and belonged to the Kokufū Music Promotion Association.
