Born September 1, 1924 in Tochigi Prefecture, Yoshizawa Gyokuhō (Yoshizawa Toshi) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Sakamoto Tsutomu. She started teaching in 1955 and was the head of the Gyokuhō-kai.
