Sakashita Kenji (Sakashita Isao) was born July 10, 1900 in Shizuoka Prefecture. He studied Yamada-ryū shamisen and koto under Imai Keishō. He was head of the Hamamatsu Sankyoku Association, director of the Shizuoka Sankyoku Federation, and head of the Shobu-kai.
